The program

Seat-based driver development: coached reps, race preparation, and track access Thurs–Sun at Spring Mountain. We run kart ops so drivers can focus on racecraft progression from grassroots karting toward higher formula categories over time.

  • Seat + home kart

This is your kid’s kart for the season — geared and tuned to them — and your seat is their spot in that kart. Membership would include unlimited track access Thurs–Sun. Another kid may use it only if they fit the same build. Seat count controls capacity, so only active seat holders would run under St.Cyr Racing at one time.

  • Coaching

Racecraft blocks, track walks, video/debrief rhythm, and progression planning.

  • Kart provided + maintained

We prep and maintain. No pit-crew role for parents.

  • Pit support

Trusted mechanics on hand when you need them.

  • Billing

Monthly seat; payments and invoices in-app.

  • Race weekends

    $600 add-on (entry + mechanic). Tires separate.

  • Why families choose this model

SMK provides the facility and membership framework that makes this program possible. Our model layers on team-operated equipment and development support so drivers can progress through sizes, engines, and classes without rebuilding the full setup every season.

Spinning Out — Why Your Reaction Matters More Than the Spin

They spin. Your first thought might be the kart. Theirs is usually fear or embarrassment. Why we say 'You ok? What happened?' and build safety before speed.

FAQ

Do we have to buy a kart?
No. Seat-based — we provide and maintain the kart.
Do we keep the same kart?
Yes. Consistent home kart geared to your driver. Same build only if sharing.
Can siblings share a kart/seat?
One driver per kart at a time; build has to match. Siblings can share if build is close. Two drivers often = two seats.
Do you have to race to be in the program?
No. Race weekends optional; add-ons when you choose.
Why choose the Academy vs going to SMK directly?
Both paths are valid. SMK provides the track and membership structure, and our Academy layers on a team-run option that includes kart operations (with coaching optional by model) so families can choose the level of support that fits them.
Do parents need to wrench or be pit crew?
No. We handle ops and pit mechanics.
How do we pay for a race weekend?
Race event → add-ons → one checkout.
